Hi all, this is my first ABH fic, and maybe I'll write another one, if I get
lots of positive feedback. :D
One more thing, it's NOT Beta-Read, so all mistakes are mine. :)

***********
You're running late to meet everyone at The Bronze. It's been the week from
hell, and you're more than ready to just kick back and have fun. You were going
to drive to The Bronze, but your car got a flat, now it's eight o'clock and
you're walking to The Bronze. Just as you round the corner leading to the
club's entrance, you're suddenly grabbed from behind and dragged into the alley.
One sweaty, grubby hand, is clamped over your mouth, preventing your ability to
scream for help. The other hand is holding you against a hard body.
"Don't try anything stupid, like defending yourself. I just want a little
snack, then we'll both go on our separate ways," a man's voice growls in your
ear. You whimper and hope someone will come to your rescue. The man turns you
around to face him and you gasp in terror at the oddity of his facial features.
Bumps and fangs, which gleam when he smiles lecherously at you. He grabs you
and sticks his face in the crook of your neck. You inhale sharply, as his fangs
penetrate your flesh.
Pain rushes through your body and you begin struggling to get away. The man
continues sucking at your neck and you start to feel weak in the knees. But
then, the pain is suddenly replaced by an intense rush of pleasure. Everything
starts to go black, but before you sink into the abyss, you vaguely hear a loud
"NO!", and then the darkness claims you.

The next thing you're aware of, is struggling to open your eyes. You hear a
soft rustling behind you and panic. Your eyes pop open, and you sit up quickly,
intent on getting away. But before you can stand up, you fall back onto the
sofa you'd been laying on. Your head and neck hurt very badly, and you try to
say something...anything really, but your voice doesn't work. "I see you're
awake now, " a soft, cultured voice says. You slowly turn around and see a
handsome looking gentleman standing there.
"You'll be all right, I suspect. My name is Rupert Giles and I've brought you
to my home." You breathe a sigh of relief, because you recognize his name as
being that of the owner of that weird shop called The Magic Box. "H-hello,"
you manage to squeak out. He smiles gently, then goes over to a nearby desk and
pours you a glass of water from a pitcher sitting on the desk. He hands it to
you and you sip at it gratefully. After a few sips, you manage to say a bit
more. You tell him what your name is, and that you'd been on your way to The
Bronze to meet friends.
"What was that thing that bit me?" you ask, half wondering if you really want
to know. Rupert sighs, then begins explaining things with the line, "You know
who Dracula is, I assume?" Around twenty minutes later, he finishes his story
and your mind boggles at everything he's told you. Vampires? Slayers? Surely
this is all just one big nightmare and someone will come to pinch you awake
anytime now?
You nervously clear your throat and then put the empty glass on the coffee
table in front of you. How are you going to explain to your friends why you
didn't show up at the club? Like they'd really believe the excuse that a vampire
attacked you. Sighing, you thank Rupert and then walk over to his front door.
"Where are you going?" he asks, concerned. "I'm going home. Unless I suddenly
need your permission?" you snap. He blinks, taken aback by your vehemence.
"I'm sorry, Rupert. I've had a hellish week, and now to top it all off, I get
attacked by a vampire. I just want to go home, take a shower, fall into bed,
and sleep for a month or two." Rupert grins knowingly, then says, "I can
relate, I assure you. But please humor me, and let me take you home?" You shrug,
"Sure, why not?" then the two of you leave the house. In a few minutes, you're
both in his car, a red BMW convertible, no less. You give him directions and
then just sit back to try and enjoy the ride.
He pulls into your driveway, behind your car and then turns off his car. He
gets out and comes around to open your car door. You thank him, then take his
hand to get out. You close the car door, then slowly walk up to your front
door. You reach into your purse for your keys, then get the right one for
unlocking your house. Opening the door, you go inside and turn back to Rupert.
"Thank you for saving me tonight, Rupert....would you like to come in for a minute?"
"Not tonight, but thank you for the offer. And you're most welcome for the
lifesaving. Buffy and I, along with our friends, all do our best to keep the
residents of Sunnydale safe. Please don't hesitate to call me, should you need
more help, "he replies, then hands you a card for The Magic Box, which has his
home number written on the back.
Smiling self-consciously, you thank him again, then quietly say goodnight and
close the door. You wonder how you missed seeing things like vampires your
whole life. And you also can't help but wonder what a guy like Rupert Giles is
doing not being married or dating anyone...or maybe he is? You're too tired to
figure that one out, so for now, a hot shower and bed, are in order for you.
At least tomorrow's Saturday and you don't have to work.
THE END
