"C'mon, Will! I wanna get this done before Angel comes back," Buffy said, dragging her friend into Angel's apartment.

"Okay, okay, I'm coming. My hands are full, help me put some of this stuff down."

Buffy took three bags from Willow and put them down in the living room. She and Willow had gone shopping at the Sunnydale Mall to buy things for Angel. Christmas decorations and gifts. They'd even bought a real tree from a tree lot, which Buffy had carried all the way to Angel's and had left it outside temporarily.

The twosome unloaded everything from garlands to wreaths and even a star to top the tree. Lights for outside and inside, too, including tree lights. Buffy grabbed the tree stand and quickly assembled it, then took it outside. Willow held it for her while Buffy put the tree into it and made sure it was secure enough to not fall down.  They brought it in and placed it in the corner by the window. Willow grabbed a chair to stand on, and Buffy handed her the string of multi-colored lights. Starting at the top, the girls wrapped the lights around the tree, then plugged them in.

They grinned at the result and Buffy put the star on top, completing the first steps to decorating. Willow went over and put on a Christmas cd from the stack they'd brought with them. Music filled the air and the friends sang along with Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" and "Mele Kalikimaka" as they hung bright shiny balls and candy canes on the tree. Red, gold, silver and blue ornaments made the tree less bare-looking. And the candy canes added a little something extra. <BR>

"Oooh, it's so pretty, Buffy!" Willow cheered, clapping her hands and giggling.

"Definitely, Wills...but do you think it needs anything else?" Buffy asked, tilting her head to one side, in order to get a better look.

"No way, Buffy! If we put any more ornaments or candy canes, it'll fall over or something," Willow replied, shaking her head. "Let's do the rest now."

"Okay, what should we put up first?" the Slayer asked.

"Um...how about the stuff that goes on the mantle? Like the nativity scene and candles?" the Wicca-wannabe suggested.

"Sounds good, here, open the box with the nativity scene in it and I'll put the red and green Christmas tablecloth on the mantle to make it look better." Willow opened the box Buffy handed her and Buffy placed the tablecloth on the marble fireplace mantle.

Mary, Joseph, the three wisemen, the sheperds, sheep, and baby Jesus went in the center arranged neatly inside the manger that had come with the set. Willow and Buffy placed various sized candles around on either side of the nativity and high-fived each other when they stepped back to examine their handiwork.

"Dude, we rock, Willow!" Buffy laughed and hugged Willow. Willow giggled and hugged her back. "So what's next?"

"I'm not sure. Ohh, we could put the lights up outside now. Xander should be here anytime to help us and he'll be bringing a ladder and a couple of extension cords," Willow said, just as there was a knock on the door.

"Talk about timing," Buffy snorted, then ran over and let Xander in.

"Hey Buffster and Wills, your manly-man Christmas light hanger is here," Xander announced, grinning cheekily at his two best friends. Both girls rolled their eyes and smacked him on either shoulder. "Okay, ow! Where do you want me?" he asked after rubbing both shoulders.<BR>

"Follow us, Xan," Willow replied and the trio went outside to figure out where to put the lights up at.

Buffy had grabbed the three boxes of icicle lights and opened them up and began untangling them. Xander set up the ladder and Willow handed him a string to hang from the eaves. Luckily there were hooks already in place, making Xander's job a little easier. All of the lights were put up and plugged into the extension cords, which were then plugged in inside the apartment.

"Looks good, Xander," Willow said, and thanked him for helping.

"No prob, Will. What else can I do to help?" he asked, leading the girls back inside.

"I don't know. The tree is up and decorated, and the mantle's looking festive too. Where should the garland go?" Buffy questioned, looking over at her friends who were holding hands. She smirked as they both blushed and quickly dropped their hands.

"How about around the door to Angel's room and then some on the inside of the front door too?" Xander suggested.

"Good idea. Where's the chair and the staple gun?" Willow asked. Buffy grabbed the chair and Xander wielded the gun. In a few minutes, the red, gold, and green shimmery garlands went into place over both doorways and the room was declared complete.

"Eep! We almost forgot the tree skirt and stockings!" Buffy yelped, and quickly put the skirt around the base of the tree, then had Willow and Xander hang up the stockings.

There were five stockings, all red and white, with names on them in silver glitter. Angel, Buffy, Xander, Giles, and Willow. The friends plopped down on the sofa with an exhausted sigh, just as Angel suddenly walked through the door. He looked around and saw all of the Christmas decorations and wondered if he was in the right place.

"Uh...hi," Angel said, causing the redhead, the blonde, and the brunette to jump in surprise.

"Hi Angel!" Willow squealed, going over and hugging the vampire quickly. Buffy and Xander got up too, and went over to Angel.

"Hi Willow, Buffy, Xander," Angel replied. "What's going on?"

"We decorated for you. Do...do you like it?" Buffy said, somewhat nervous about his response. He nodded and smiled, then pulled her into a hug.

"It's really nice, you guys. Thanks a lot," he told them. "Xander, I assume you hung the lights up outside?" Xander nodded. "They look very pretty, so thank you."

"You're welcome, Angel," Willow smiled.

"Yeah, it was no prob," Xander said and shrugged while smiling.

"Is there anything I can do to thank you?" Angel asked, after everyone had sat down in the newly decorated living room.

"Pay us for our time?" Xander joked, earning mock-glares from his friends. "Kidding, promise."

"It was fun decorating for you, Angel," Buffy said, and Willow nodded in agreement. Angel smiled at them and thanked them yet again. The rest of the evening was spent listening to Christmas music and talking about their favorite holiday memories.

THE END
