"I'm *sick* of this argument, Giles! It's never ending and I've had enough! I know you think we're not ready for kids, but c'mon. I'm the Slayer...this might be my one chance at having a baby. I'm already 24 and Slayers in the past, have only lived to 26," Buffy argued. She was pacing in front of him. He was sitting on the couch and had his head in his hands. He, too, was tired of their constant bickering about when the timing would be right to have a baby. He wanted children with her so badly he could taste it. But they'd only been married for three months. Was it wrong of him to want more time to spend with his lovely bride? They were still in their honeymoon phase and he was loathe for it to end.
Buffy flopped down across the room from him in a chair. She looked at him and her heart ached with love for him. He was her husband, finally, and she wanted to enjoy him for as long as she was able to. But she also wanted his babies. Now. He kept telling her they had plenty of time to begin a family, but she knew better. She knew *he* knew better. They'd been arguing over when to start their family, since even before they'd discussed getting married. Buffy had practically been dragged to the altar, but not because she hadn't wanted to be his wife. She'd wanted to marry him desperately, but was still afraid it was all a dream. Giles in love with her and him wanting to marry her.
Now he was dragging his feet, and she was scared. Buffy was also determined to bring him over to "the dark side", with her. Something had to be done to change his mind and the sooner, the better, as far as she was concerned. Of course now there was just the matter of planning out how to convince him they were more than ready for a baby. She got up and kissed him on his cheek. He looked up and saw the love in her eyes. Giles pulled her into his lap and they embraced. They kissed, passionately, and then he grinned Ripperishly at her and ran up the stairs with her, to their bedroom.

The next few days were spent in continued wedded bliss. Neither one of them mentioned the family thing again...and both were happy, mostly. He kept feeling like their was a cloud over their heads, waiting for the right time to burst. Buffy was feeling the strain of their unresolved issue, she and Giles couldn't avoid it forever...but she was still searching for a way to coax him into believing that she was right about the baby thing. And finally, she got a sign...The Pump was having their monthly "Amature Night".
********************
A week later, "Amature Night" was one day away. and Buffy had yet to find the perfect song to sing. Willow had suggested something by Aretha Franklin...Buffy eagerly agreed.
"How about R-E-S-P-E-C-T, Buffy?" Willow asked.
"Oooh! Good idea, Will! Now to learn the words and find an outfit to perform in...wanna hit the mall with me?"
"Okay, but we'd better hurry if we're gonna make it there before it closes."
Buffy gasped, grabbed Willow, and the two headed off in Giles' BMW. Giles was out of town but would be back the next afternoon. The two friends made it to the mall in record time, and Buffy headed to her favorite store.

The next afternoon, Buffy greeted Giles excitedly at the airport. He was glad that she seemed extremely happy to see him. They chattered all the way home about what they'd been up to since they'd been apart. Buffy casually mentioned that The Pump was having its' "Amature Night" that evening and told him she'd be performing. He was surprised that she was willing to sing in public. But knew he wouldn't miss it for anything.

"Good evening everyone! How we all doin tonight?" Jeff, The Pump's owner, asked the crowd that night. Everyone clapped and laughed. Jeff grinned and then told the audience a little more about that evening's events. After that, he introduced the first performer.
********************
Five songs later, he introduced Buffy. She blushed and smiled, then took the stage. Giles was sitting off to one side, and he sat up when his wife was introduced. She looked over at him and winked. He blushed, then winked back. She giggled, then waited for the song to begin.

The song faded out, and the audience applauded wildly. Buffy blushed and curtsied. Giles escorted her off the stage and led her back to their table. After seating her, he regained his seat and ordered them fresh coffees. They enjoyed the rest of their night out, then headed home. She fell asleep, dreaming of babies in little tweed diapers. He dreamed of babies with her hazel eyes and impish grin.

---NINE MONTHS LATER---
*Ring, Ring*
"Hello?"
"Willow! It's Giles!"
"Omigosh! Giles! Is it time?!"
"Yes, we've just arrived at the hospital, you'd best hurry. I'm told Buffy's already seven centimeters dialated!"
She said a quick "BYE!", then slammed down the phone and rushed to the hospital. If she missed her little niece or nephew's birth, she'd never hear the end of it.
********************
--FOUR HOURS LATER--
"I still can't believe it's a girl!", Buffy whispered in his ear. They were snuggled into her hospital bed with their new daughter. Willow had gone home, since it was going on 3 AM.
"Neither can I, Dearheart...so have we decided on what we're going to name her yet?" he snickered softly. Buffy rolled her eyes and half-heartedly smacked him with one hand.
"Yes we have picked a name...but it's not one that you and I discussed though," she replied.
"Oh? And what pray tell, is her name going to be then?" Giles asked hesitating. He kissed his daughter's soft cheek, then kissed her mummy's soft cheek. Both females cooed at the familar touch. He smiled at them in return.
"So...are you going to let me know what I'm to call our daughter? Or shall I just go through life calling her "Buffy Junior"?" he teased. She mock glared at her husband and thought long and hard about kicking him out of the bed. Giles sensed her wicked thoughts and kissed her senseless. Buffy pressed her body to his, as much as possible without crushing the newborn.
"Okay, okay...I know we both liked Charlotte and Lillian...but after seeing her, I don't think either name suits her." She kissed the baby and then giggled at her husband's look of frustration.
"What do you think of Hannah Rose Giles for her name?" Buffy nervously asked. Giles grinned and kissed Buffy. She gasped and kissed him back.
"I guess that means you like it," Buffy laughed. He nodded and then began singing a beautiful lullaby to his wife and daughter. And a short while later, when a nurse walked by, she stuck her head into Mrs. Giles' room and grinned at the sight of the Giles family fast asleep. Lucky for her, she had a camera, which she used to take their picture.
THE END!
